Mather + Platt, is a leading name in the pump manufacturing industry of South Africa and was established here in 1950. The company is able to offer officially manufactured spares, manufacturer warranted repairs, new pumps and valves, as well as the brands associated with the Mather + Platt name presently such as Viking Gear pumps, Vanton chemical pumps, EIM submersible pumps.

The Company benefits from the pump technology which is the result of years of research and development based on global ideas. Mather + Platt is also proceeding with the implementation of the industrial requirements, such as ISO 9002, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001.

Mather + Platt have the following three trading divisions which supply pumps, spares, repairs and valves:

Mather + Platt Engineered Pumps

• Bringing together the Mather + Platt name and history with the Dasher experience of manufacturing M+P pumps and spares.
• Mather + Platt range comprises horizontal split casing, multistage end section and vertical pumps to handle duties up to 30 000 M.³ /Hr. and heads up to 1800 M duties required for industrial, municipal bulk water and power stations applications
• The division is the only supplier in South Africa of genuine Mather + Platt pump spare parts and undertakes repairs and refurbishment to its wide range of existing Mather + Platt pumps.

Mather + Platt standard Pumps

• The Viking Internal gear pump and strainers from Viking, USA, which is part of the Idex Corporation. The pump is utilized in niche markets, pumping oils, bitumen, tars, gasses, molasses, paints and adhesives.
• EIM, submersible, drainage & slurry pumps from Japan for Mining & Industrial applications.
• TurboSan submersible sewage and waste water pump from Turkey.
• The Tianjin range of centrifugal pumps from China. Comprising of submersible drainage pumps, vertical multi-stage pumps, jet pumps, cast iron end suction pumps and many more to suit all clear water industrial applications.

Mather + Platt Valves

The division supplies a comprehensive range of valves for industrial applications, whilst the Geomet knife gate valve is manufactured here in South Africa in our own facility.

Each Division operates through a distributor network in major towns of South Africa. In addition, there are distributors in Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Swaziland. Mather + Platt also represents Vanton Pumps & Equipment of the USA which manufacturers a range of Engineered Thermoplastic pumps for handling corrosive, abrasive and hazardous fluids in the Chemical Industry.

The new Mather + Platt range will cover from end-suction through horizontal and vertical multi-stage, to Axially split case pumps, together with specialist pumps for paper stock and solids handling end-suction pumps, together giving flows of upto 30,000 mqh and heads of up to 1800m.
